WHAT IS CELEBRATE RECOVERY?
Celebrate Recovery is for anyone whose life is affected by hurts, habits or hang-ups. We’ve all been hurt by other people; we’ve hurt ourselves; we’ve hurt others. As a result, every single one of us has some sort of hurt, habit or hang-up. The question we all face is: “where do we go from here?”
The purpose of FBCTW’s Celebrate Recovery ministry is to fellowship and celebrate God’s healing power in our lives through the “8 Recovery Principles.” This experience allows us to “be changed.” We open the door by sharing our experiences, strengths, and hopes with one another. In addition, we become willing to accept God’s grace in solving our lives’ problems. By working and applying these biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually.
We become free from our codependent, compulsive, dysfunctional or perhaps addictive behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others. As we progress through the program we discover our personal, loving, and forgiving Higher Power—Jesus Christ, the one and only true Higher Power.
Each week, people come to Building D, upstairs on Monday night, at 6:30 pm, from every walk of life. A common thread that is woven in each of these people is a hurt, habit or hang-up in their life and a desire to break free from it through the grace and love of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Through this ministry, God has drawn men and women from the valleys of their lives and given them a glimpse of what community looks like when we let down our guard and enter the battle for each other’s soul. We pray that when you are in the midst of your valley and struggling to see God, you reach out to fellow believers and invite them into the battle with you. Celebrate Recovery is a place where this can begin. Please do not let pride get in the way of experiencing what God has to offer or the call to help others.
WHO ATTENDS CELEBRATE RECOVERY?
