About Katy Shaver
Katy has been involved at First Baptist Church of The Woodlands since her family moved to the area in August 2004. She joined the Student Ministry Team as the Girls Student Associate in February 2011.
Katy is originally from the great state of Louisiana and proud of her Cajun roots. After graduating from The Woodlands High School in 2008, Katy made the decision to attend Louisiana State University where she majored in Elementary Education. She is a die-hard Tigers fan and holds that there is no better place to watch football than in Death Valley. Recently, Katy felt the call to move back to Texas and to the student ministry she loves so much. She is currently in her Senior year at the University of Houston majoring in Psychology. Despite this move, and despite the disapproval of her fellow ^Fuse staff members, Katy remains loyal to the purple and gold and can frequently be seen sporting those majestic colors.
In her spare time, Katy can be found hanging out with friends and family or doing a good craft. She is an avid scrap-booker and loves to spend hours walking around Hobby Lobby in search of her next project.
Katy has a passion for students, especially Junior High and High School girls. Her prayer is that God will use her to help young women find their self-worth not in the things of this world, but in a Savior who lovingly pursues them every day of their life.
