Dr. R. Bruce Webb (You are completely welcome to call him Bruce or Dr. Bruce, whichever makes you feel more comfortable. Either one is fine.) Hobbies: Sports, golf, history, learning, traveling, walking with his wife, being involved with anything his three girls are doing and sharing life with his church. Story: Dr. Bruce became a follower of Jesus when he was 15, and says, “It was without question the most important decision of my life.” From that time on, he fell in love with the people who are the Church of Jesus Christ. At 19, after his Freshman year in college, he took his first position as a Summer youth minister, and from that time forward understood if given the opportunity would spend the rest of his life serving the Lord and doing his best to connect others with the hope and meaning knowing Jesus offers.      The following is an excerpt from an interview with Dr. Webb, which appeared in Living Magazine in 2011. A Space for Grace and Truth First Woodlands is a place where Jesus is always First. Because this is true, it is a place where grace and truth intersect. “It seems in so many places, it is all grace and no truth, or it is all truth and no grace,” said Dr. Webb. “In Jesus Christ, however, it isn’t a choice of either grace or truth, but grace and truth living together. That is what we are striving to achieve in our church. We hold to the absolute truth of Jesus and His word found in the Bible and, at the same time, recognize none of us ever completely measure up, including me. So, we are not a perfect place because we are people like you,” he added. “We are, however, a growing place where you won't be judged, but will be invited to join us on the journey, as we together seek to honor Jesus Christ and know him better.” A Place of Community and Service “Our philosophy of ministry is that the church of Jesus Christ should be a place where all different age groups are learning to love one another and learning to live for one another,” said Dr. Webb.  Missions is part of First Woodlands DNA as they are personally involved in missions both locally and globally, encouraging its members to find a place to serve in the church and around the world.
